Kirsi Ranto (born 1978) is a singer-songwriter from Jalasjärvi, Finland. When she was 6 years old, she knew she's going to be a singer. She started playing piano and violin at the age of 8, and did her first official singing gig at the age of 15. In 1998 she won the national tangosinging competition in Seinäjoki Tangomarkkinat, and started doing gigs and concerts all around Finland. Kirsi's unique, deep and touching voice, shining presence and openhearted style to sing creates a very powerful combination. Her music is soulful, melodic aqoustic/pop/rock music, and her genera is pop crossover. 

Kirsi Ranto has released five albums since 1999. Her newest one "Läikytät mua" was released on October 2010. She has been writing her own music since 2005.

"I always drem about writing my own song. After having some big crisis in my life, the deep spiritual period started. During that I began to internally ask questions about my life purpose, and started to search a real inner peace and harmony, true Love to my life. For my very surprise I started to have answers by songs. They just "flew" through me, it was amazing. Those first songs appeared almost as a prayers. "Kotimatka"/"A Way Home"-album 2007 was very fragile, sensitive, but still full of hope.

Soon I met my spiritual guide Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, and found myself from India over and over again since 2008.  It was a real turning point in my life. I found a whole new world inside of me, and knew that everything I've gone through we're supposed to happen, to open my heart to this Divine Love.

Now my mission is to wrap all my songs and performances with that same healing, loving energy so that everyone who listens my music would feel it in her/his heart, too. That is my humble prayer."
